PURPOSE:To efficiently perform a high-speed block transfer of a large quantity of data, by coupling components constituting a data processing system with each other through nodes of a ring bus and synchronously transferring data and other information simultaneously in parallel with each other by using various tokens. CONSTITUTION:This system is constituted as a synchronous daisy chain bus in which plural nodes 1 are arranged in the shape of a ring and the section between adjacent nodes 1 is connected with a unidirectional data line for making a multi-process and multi-drop transfer. Namely, various tokens, such as data token, empty token, etc., are expressed by combinations of each signal of a control bus 4 and data bus 3 and the tokens are synchronously transferred between each node 1 simultaneously in parallel with each other by using the same clock. When no data to be transferred exist, each node 1 assembles an empty token and sends it to the adjacent nodes. When data to be transferred exist, each node 1 assembles a data token and sends it to the adjacent nodes 1 upon detecting the empty token from the node 1 of the preceding stage. Therefore, a high-speed transfer of block data between devices becomes possible. between devices.
