PURPOSE:To selectively effect the different displays of frequency and time on the same display position by forming a liquid crystal layer dividing into two layers, and by enabling a positive and a negative displays by combining electrodes impressing a voltage. CONSTITUTION:In the titled device capable of selectively displaying the frequency and the time on the same display position, the liquid crystal layer is formed dividing into two layers, and enable to the positive an the negative displays by combining the electrodes impressing the voltage, and the one species of display is displayed as the positive, while, the another species of display is displayed as the negative species. Namely, either one of the frequency and the time displays is displayed as the positive, and the another species of which is displayed as the negative. As the result, at the time of observing the display, when the display is positive, the display shows the one species, and when the display is negative, the display shows the another species whereby the distinction can be easily carried out by observing the display. Accordingly, which species is displayed, does not fail to see, even when the display is selectively effected at the same display position.
