PURPOSE:To prevent short-circuiting due to fracture of a separator by folding a separator to form a triple-layered structure. CONSTITUTION:Pulling a separator 2 out of a separator hoop 1 using a pulling jig 3, a part of the separator in the vicinity of the turning center is folded by folding jigs 4. The folded separator 2 is put between guides 5 to form a triple-layered structure, then the triple layer is held by a semi-circular divided winding jig 6 thrusted forward from an opposite direction. Next, the separator 2 is cut in specific size using a cutter 7, and rolling the winding jig 6 in contact with a pressure roller 8 and interposing a positive electrode 9 and a negative electrode 10 separately, it is wound up spirally. By this arrangement, the triple- layered separator can be formed in a short time, with damage prevented. |
