PURPOSE:To obtain a small diameter cast billet having the aimed composition without any segregation by using >=two kinds of metallic wire rods as raw material, adjusting each wire supplying speed so as to become chemical components of alloy, which aims to produce, melting in water cooled metallic mold, solidifying and drawing. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus is formed by the metallic water-cooled mold 1 having grooves at outer circumference and rotating at right angle to the horizontal face, a device 2 supplying raw material for wire rod to the mold 1 as possible to adjust supplying speed, a heat source 3 for heating and melting the raw material for wire rod, an electric source 4 thereof and a drawing device 5 for the solidified alloy cast billet. Cross sectional shape at bottom side of the groove on the water-cooled mold is formed to semicircular-shape and the supplying speed of the wire rod and the drawing speed of the cast billet are controlled, and the cast billet is made to almost circular sectional shape by using the surface tension of molten state of the alloy. The heating device is necessary to supply high energy density and plasma arc is suitable to this. Melting atmosphere is executed under inert gas or vacuum. By this method, the alloy cast billet having excellent characteristic without any contamination caused by reaction between the molten metal and crucible material, is obtd.
