PURPOSE:To obtain a picture of hue with fidelity, by generating a signal with a frequency sufficiently higher than that of a driving pulse signal, measuring a number included in each one period of the pulse signal by a signal in which the above signal is 1/3-frequency-divided, and generating the pulse signal. CONSTITUTION:The signal 10 read out from a memory 1 at every 1H is inputted to a 1/3 frequency divider 4. The pulse signal of (0) phase of the 1/3 frequency divider 4 is sent to a measuring circuit 5 at the next stage, and the number of pulses included of the memory output signal 10 from a leading edge to the next leading edge is measured, and the data is inputted to a second memory circuit 6. The data inputted to the memory circuit 6 is stored and held for 1H, and is read out by the signal 10 read out at the next step, and sent to output measuring circuits 7a and 7b. The pulse signal 13 with prescribed width is generated at an MM8B setting the leading edge of an input signal as reference, and the pulse signals 14 and 15 with prescribed width are generated at an MMBR and an MM8G setting the trailing edge of respective input signal as reference.
