摘要 PURPOSE:To enable formation of a transfer-recorded image having thermal and mechanical durability, by providing first and second heat-fusible layers in that order from the side of a base, incorporating a multivalent active hydrogen-containing compound into one of the layers and incorporating an isocyanate-containing compound in the other layer. CONSTITUTION:A known film or paper is used as a base 12. A first layer 13 and a second layer 14 comprise a multivalent active hydrogen-containing compound or the like, whereby a heat-fusibility can be developed, but when other heat-fusible material is jointly used, desired properties can be developed to a desired degree. A thermal transfer material 11 is produced by a method wherein a heat-fusible material, a coloring agent and various additives such as a dispersant and a filler for use in the first ink layer are kneaded by melting or are kneaded with a solvent to prepare an ink, which is applied to the base to provide the first layer, and then the second layer is provided by a similar method. The polyvalent active hydrogen-containing compound is added to the first or second layer, whereas an isocyanate-containing compound is added to the second or first layer, provided that both of the compounds do not coexist in the same layer.
