PURPOSE:To inhibit reverse charge minimally by reversely charging only an overdischarge battery having high internal resistance in response to internal resistance. CONSTITUTION:On normal charge, charge end voltage is detected by a voltage detecting section 5, a control section 4 controls a current control section 3, and trickle charge by a resistor 2 is started. When the AC section of charging voltage takes a fixed value A or more, an AC voltage detecting section 10 issues an output to a reverse charge control section 6, and changes over a relay contact 13 and conducts reverse charge. Reverse charge is performed until reaching to a fixed value B or less of an AC section included in reverse charge voltage is detected by an AC voltage detecting section 8. When an AC voltage component at the time of large ranges from a fixed value C to the fixed value A, the reverse charge control section 6 controls the control section 4 and flows charging currents until the AC voltage component at the time of charge takes the fixed value C or less.
