PURPOSE:To enable discrimination of colors when multicolor original image information is outputted in black and white, by generating different pattern signals for each color region of image information, and forming an image on an image-forming object medium by using image-forming media according to the pattern signals. CONSTITUTION:A color-sorting part 102 performs color conversion based on a luminance signal, a color difference signal 1 and a color difference signal 2 after an image-improving processing, thereby sorting the signals into a color signal of one color selected from red, blue, green, yellow, magenta and cyan, and sends the color signal to a pattern-converting part 103. The part 103 sends a pattern selection signal corresponding to the color signal sent from the color- sorting part 103, to a pattern output part 104. According to the color selection signal supplied from the pattern-converting part 103, the pattern output part 104 reads a corresponding basic pattern from a basic pattern memory 105 correspondingly to the position at that time, and sends the pattern signal to an external output buffer 106. A thermal head 31 performs printing (namely, forming an image) according to a printing signal. |
