PURPOSE:To omit useless feeding of an information recording medium by changing a required image frame to another image frame when the frame number of another image frame is inputted during the retrieval of an image frame with a frame number inputted from an input means. CONSTITUTION:When the frame number of an objective frame is keyed from a keyboard 27 and a start key on the keyboard 2 is depressed, a CPU21 executes decision based on the input signal and sends a control signal to a motor control part 26 through an interface circuit 25 to drive a motor M3. When an operator inputs another objective frame during the retrieval of the current objective time, the CPU1 decides the input, clears the frame number of the precedently inputted objective frame, replaces the objective frame by another objective frame, and stops the motor M3 through the motor control part 26 to stop the feeding of a microfilm F. Consequently, the information recording medium can be efficiently fed and the retrieving time can be shortened.
