PURPOSE:To ensure smooth transfer of a dye and ensure reproduction of a highlight part with rich gradation under a low applied voltage, by providing a transfer-accelerating layer comprising a polyethyleneimine octadecylcarbamate or the like on a thermal transfer layer comprising a dye having specified properties. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording material 10 comprises a thermal transfer layer 2 and a transfer-accelerating layer 3 provided on a base sheet 1. The base sheet 1 may be a film of a plastic such as polyethylene terephthalate. The transfer layer 2 is a layer comprising a dye capable of being transferred through sublimation, evaporation or melting by heating, and comprises as a main constituent a composition comprising the dye and the like dispersed in a binder such as a cellulose resin. The transfer-accelerating layer 3 provided on the transfer layer 2 is a layer so provided that the dye in the layer 2 is efficiently transferred to a transfer recording material 5 at the time of printing by heating, and comprises the single substance or the mixture of a layer comprising polyethyleneimine octadecylcarbamate or the polyvinyl octadecylcarbamate. |
