PURPOSE:To obtain the titled oil having a specific viscosity index, shown by a specific structure, having strong resistance of apparent viscosity change to shear rate and causing no reduction in operation efficiency and operation stability. CONSTITUTION:The aimed oil which has 5,000-500,000cst viscosity index at 25 deg.C, a dimethylsiloxane chain structure and a branched structure wherein at least one methyl group bonded to a silicone atom at the end group is replaced with a dimethylsiloxane chain. A branched chain exists in a silicone atom within 10th silicone atom from the silicone atom of trimethylsiloxane at the end and number of the silicone atoms of the branched chain of the dimethylsiloxane is preferably <= number of the silicone atoms from the branched point to the end of the main chain.
