PURPOSE:To prevent a magnetic recording sensing element and a magnetic disk medium from being damaged due to contaminated particles by forming a groove on an opposite surface of an air spoiler to the magnetic disk medium in an approximately radial direction of the magnetic disk medium. CONSTITUTION:The groove 14 is formed to extend in approximately parallel with the radial direction of the magnetic disk medium 5 on the opposite surface of each air spoiler 13 to the surface of the magnetic disk medium 5. Then, the air spoiler 13 is set up in approximately parallel with the radial direction of the magnetic disk medium. Consequently, air intruded into a gap between the air spoiler 13 on its upper stream side and the magnetic disk medium 5 is turned in its airflow direction by this groove 14 into a swirl, where the contaminated particles 15 wafting in the air are involved in the swirl to collide against the inner surface of the groove 14, etc., and then adhere to this surface. Then, agglomerate contaminated particles 15 will soon be separated to discharge out with the airflow toward outside of the magnetic disk medium 5. By this method, the surface of the magnetic disk medium 5 is always kept clean accordingly.
