PURPOSE:To promote the cost down of manufacture of an engine, by providing normally and reversely rotating cams for a fuel injection pump, reversing mechanism provided in a cam shaft and a distributor valve provided in a route of high pressure fuel oil. CONSTITUTION:When assuming Z for cylinder quantity, (n) for number of crests in a fuel cam 2, alpha for speed increase ratio of a fuel injection cam shaft 7 to a crankshaft 1 and N for quantity of fuel injection pumps 4, a formula of relation where alphanN=Z is satisfied. An engine has normally rotating and reversing cams 2a, 2b for the fuel injection pump 4, reversing mechanism 15 provided in the cam shaft 7 set up to these cams and a distributor valve 8 provided in a route of high pressure fuel oil forced to be press fed to each cylinder 11 from the fuel injection pump 4. In this way, the engine, less decreasing a setting quantity of expensive parts such as the fuel cam, fuel injection pump driving gear and the fuel injection pump permits the cost down of manufacture to be promoted.
