PURPOSE:To prevent fluctuated battery capacity and expanded electrode from short-circuiting by using a material comprising acetylene black as a main component with 30-50 wt.% conductive carbon mixed to the total carbon for a carbon pole. CONSTITUTION:In a battery which uses light metal as a negative electrode active substance, oxyhalide substance as a positive electrode active substance, carbon material of a carbon electrode is prepared by using acetylene black as a main component, to which polytetrafluoroethylene is added as a conductive carbon and a binder. Basic properties of the conductive carbon are: specific surface area measured by nitrogen absorption method is 1000 m<2>/g or more, dibutyl phthalate oil absorption is 300 ml/100g or more and mixed amount of conductive carbon is 30-50 wt.% of the total carbon black. By this arrangement, the capacity fluctuation and short-circuiting are prevented. |
