PURPOSE:To obtain an image having superior photographic characteristics with superior productivity by incorporating a specified compd. as a surfactant into a photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material holding photosensitive silver halide, a binder and a dye providing substance which produces or releases a diffusible dye in proportion or reverse proportion to a reaction for reducing the photosensitive silver halide to silver at high temp. on the support is imagewise exposed and heated to form an image. The photosensitive material may be heated simultaneously with imagewise exposure. At this time, a compd. represented by formula I (where R1 is H or a hydrocarbon residue, R2 is a hydrocarbon residue, n is a positive integer of 5-200 and k is 0 or a positive integer of 1-7) is incorporated into the photosensitive material. Interlayer color mixing and fogging can be prevented and superior photographic characteristics are obtd. |
