PURPOSE:To raise the accuracy of settling position of a caisson by adjusting the horizontal force component by providing projected supporters consisting of parallel links with bottom plates, guide pulleys, pulleys on the link side, and a position regulating mechanism for caisson. CONSTITUTION:In the early period of settling a caisson 1, a frame 3 is positioned below a vertical guide 2 and projected supporters 5 and 6 are greatly projected toward the lower part of the caisson 1. The bottom plates 6 of the supporters 5 are slightly moved toward the outside, parallel links 5 are set to an inclined state, and the caisson 1 is positioned and wholly settled down. A wire 12 is sent out with the settlement of the caisson 1 from the time when the plate 6 is landed initially on the seabed. The caisson 1 can thus be smoothly settled down, and the efficiency of operations for settlement can be greatly improved.
