PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of combustion state and fuel consumption due to the scavenging operation by installing a scavenging port, combusted gas aspirating pump, scavenging port opening/closing timing valve and a timing valve control means, onto a rotary engine. CONSTITUTION:A scavenging port 16 is installed at the position opened to a working chamber, in front of a suction port 5 for absorbing the mixed gas, accompanied with the revolution of a rotor 7. In the final period of exhaust cycle, a timing valve 19 is opened by the control of a microcomputer 15 operated in synchronization with an eccentric shaft 8, and a suction pump 18 is operated to absorb the combusted gas in the scavenging port 16 and the working chamber and discharges gas from an exhaust passage 4. Just before the suction port 5 is opened, the timing valve 19 is closed. Therefore, the new mixed gas absorbed from the suction port 5 is prevented from being discharged from the scavenging port 16, and the trouble of the deterioration of the combustion state and fuel consumption due to the scavenging operation is prevented.
