PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a sender and to allow a receiver to acquire received data at a proper time by providing an information function telling the reception of a facsimile to the receiver by voice. CONSTITUTION:In case of transmission, an operator inputs an opposite receiver identification code and the facsimile number of the receiver side from an operation section 1. A facsimile function section 3 sends the opposite telephone number and the receiver identification code to a line 8 and transfers an original. The receiver side uses a receiver ID detection section 4 to detect the receiver identification code sent from the sender side. When the original is generated entirely, an information control section 5 extracts the telephone number of the receiver corresponding to the receiver identification code inputted from the receiver ID detection section 4 from a receiver identification code and receiver telephone number table and outputs it to the line 8. A network control section 7, in detecting the arrival to the opposite party, informs the information control section 5, which starts a voice synthesis section 6 to output the receiver name corresponding to the receiver identification code and the transfer of the facsimile to said receiver to the line 8 in a synthesized voice.
