PURPOSE:To allow paint to be applied without drips and capture and remove paint mists which are sent flying, without fail by arranging water tanks and exhaust ducts on both sides of a passage for a work supporting rod and coating the upper surface of a work from above with a coating gun. CONSTITUTION:When a pallet 20 is introduced into a coating booth 1 riding on a conveyor 3, a work supporting rod 21 mounted upright on the pallet 20, protruding its tip upward from a slit-type passage 5, moves a work W upheld by the rod over a water tank 6, and coats, as required, the top of the work W by using a coating gun 9 located above the water tank. Subsequently, a required amount of paint is applied on the top of each work W without dripping, and paint mists sent flying are captured by water stored in the water tank 6 beneath. Further, a small amount of paint mists sent flying farther outside are sucked into exhaust ducts through netting bodies 10 tensely installed on both sides of a conveyor frame 2.
