PURPOSE:To increase mechanical strength and electrical performance by filling wax in a lead of a plate or a lead and the upper part of a grid. CONSTITUTION:Wax 5 is filled in a lead 2 and the upper part of a grid 1 comprising an expanded metal net or a porous plate, and the wax 5 and the lead 2 are bonded together. The wax is selected depending on material of the lead 2 and the grid 1, and the kind of active material 3 and electrolyte. By filling only the lead, an open part, or net part in the upper part of the grid with the wax, without special thickness increase of wax filled part, decrease of electrical resistance and increase of mechanical strength achieved. |
