PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate change of systems in an unloader which can be selectively used for lateral excavation and catenary excavation, by guiding rollers provided to buckets with the use of a vertically split type guide rail attached to a horizontal excavating section frame and having its lower section contactable and separable to and from the rollers. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a lateral excavation system, rollers 4 are guided by upper and lower guide rails 6, 7 so that a bucket 1 is bound to an excavating section frame 8 while it is moved for excavation. In the case of a catenary excavation system, the operation of the bucket elevator is stopped, and a horizontal excavating section frame 8 is depressed so as to exert an overtention to a chain 2 by means of a cylinder which is not shown, so that the rollers 4 are made into press-contact with the upper guide rail 5. Then, under the action of the cylinder, a wedge 21 is pulled so as to move a T-like ridge 20, and the lower guide rail 7 is therefore moved to the center side so that it is separated from the rollers 4. Then the chain 20 is slackened to make the rollers 4 free. Thus, it is possible to facilitate the changeover between both systems.
