<p>PURPOSE:To enhance heat dissipation and facilitate manufacture of a discharge lamp stabilizer, by compactly filling a compound in the areas between a core, a coil and a stabilizer casing and the area surrounding a stabilizer body formed by connecting the three members in the state wherein the opening surface of an exterior casing is open, and bonding the stabilizer casing of substantially U-shape and a portion of the core to each other. CONSTITUTION:A core 10 is fitted with a coil 11 and connected to a stabilizer casing 12 by bending tabs 14, thereby to form a stabilizer body 15. The body 15 is housed in an exterior casing 16 with one open side. The casing 16 is housed in a cage 17 in the state wherein mounting legs 13 are supported by the opening edges and is dipped, together with the cage 17, in a compound tank 18. A resin compound 21 is compactly filled in all spaces inside the exterior casing 16. The area between the coil 11 and the stabilizer casing 12 is filled with the resin compound 21. Both side surfaces and a portion of the other surfaces of the core 10 contact the stabilizer casing 12, while the portions of the core 10 which are not in contact with the casing 12 are closely contacted by the compound 21. Thus, the heat generated in the coil 11 and the core 10 is effectively transferred from the mounting legs 13 to a chassis 7 which has a large heat dissipation area.</p> |
