PURPOSE:To register a telephone number while using a general telephone set by providing a response table between a telephone number for each subscriber and a subscriber circuit number. CONSTITUTION:When a telephone set is hooked off and dials a special number requesting the registration of a telephone number, a controller 23 analyzes the number and sends a request reception acknowledge tone when it is decided as a number registration request. When a telephone number to be registered is received, the controller 23 rewrites the telephone number corresponding to the registered subscriber circuit number in the memory 24 into the received telephone number and sends a notice tone representing the completion of registration to complete the control.
