PURPOSE:To clean a heat-generation part of a thermal head with ease to enhance a thermal recording quality, by providing a guide member guided to an ink sheet cassette inserting part, and a thermal head cleaning member fixed to the guide member. CONSTITUTION:When a thermal head cleaner 4 using, for example, a silicone oil in a cleaning member 4b is moved reciprocatively in a direction A in a cassette inserting part 1, the thermal head cleaner 4 is guided into the cassette inserting part 1 and the cleaning member 4b reciprocates while being in contact and engagement with the surface of a heat-generation part 2a of a thermal head 2. Therefore, the stains adhered on the surface of the heat-generation part 2a is removed. Since the thermal head 4 is thus produced with a low cost, it can be readily thrown away. The construction in which the cleaning member 4b is fixed to the guide member 4a allows the cleaning member 4b to be easily replaced and eliminates the need for a special mechanism for cleaning. in this manner, the heat-generation part 2a of the thermal head 2 is cleaned with an easy and low-cost means, and a thermal recording quality is enhanced. |
