PURPOSE:To make it possible to fix a filter surely by the irradiation of ultraviolet rays for a short period as well as to contrive improvement in productivity by a method wherein a filter, on which a part or whole of the dyed film and the protective film on the region extruding from a solid-state image pickup element is removed, is formed. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup element 7 is adhered to the bottom face of the recessed part called the cavity of a substrate 6 with silver paste and the like, the electrode on the side of the solid-state image pickup element and the pad 11 on the side of the substrate are connected with an Al, or Au wire. Then, ultraviolet-set resist 9 is dripped on a step 8, a filter is positioned on the solid-state image pickup element 7, and after the positioning has been completed, the filter is fixed by irradiating the ultraviolet rays. The whole part of the dyed film 2 and the protective film 3 on both end parts of the filter are removed, and the state wherein the maximum irradiation of ultraviolet rays will be received can be obtained.
