PURPOSE:To obtain a sustained release preparation capable of preventing side effects such as nausea while maintaining immediate effects, having extremely improved durability of action, by blending rapid released granules and sustained release granules containing emorfazone, respectively as a medicinal component. CONSTITUTION:1pt.wt. rapid released granules containing anti-inflammatory analgesic emorfazone: 4-ethoxy-2-methyl-5-morpholino-3(2H)-pyridazinone are blended with 0.5-3pts.wt., preferably 1-2pts.wt. sustained release granules containing emorfazone. The rapid released granules are prepared by blending emorfazone with starch, excipient such as lactose and a binder such as hydroxypropyl cellulose or ethyl cellulose and the sustained release granules are prepared by blending emorfazone with a release controlling substance (e.g. methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer or wax soluble at pH >=6) or the rapid released granules are coated with a sustained release substance film to prepare a sustained release preparation of emorfazone.
