PURPOSE:To aim at smooth operation by installing a position controlling device suspending a scraper, a device pressing the scraper to a cathode mother board with a roller and so on, in addition to a cathode holding and locking mechanism and a reciprocating mechanism of the scraper. CONSTITUTION:A locking mechanism is provided with a support frame 3 holding a cathode 2 and also provided with a cradle 4 mounting a head cover 2a of a cathode mother board 2b on the upper end. Next, a separation mechanism consists of a scraper 5, a hydraulic cylinder 6 and a guide roll 7. And, the scraper 5 is advanced forward by the hydraulic cylinder 6, and a knife edge is closed with a clamp starting signal. Afterward, this knife edge is inserted into space between a surface of the cathode mother board 2b and a precipitation metal 2c, separating this precipitation metal 2c. According to this device, even in case of the cathode motor board 2b different in plate thickness, smooth separating operation is executable and, what is more, the knife edge of the scraper 5 is in no case bitten in the surface of the cathode mother board 2b.
