PURPOSE:To easily wind a web by disposing a winding belt continuously running at a speed equal to the speed of supplying web and a winding belt running in the opposite direction to the above belt at a speed a little lower than that of the above winding belt opposite to each other in such a manner as to gradually increase in space therebetween, and supplying a core between both winding belts. CONSTITUTION:At an inlet 13a of a web winding portion 13, a web Q is wound round the periphery of a core R. Whereupon, a web roll S is moved from the inlet 13a side to the outlet 13b side while being increased in thickness. When a designated length of web Q is wound round the periphery of the core R, a running web Q is cut by a web cutting device 3. Subsequently, the web roll is released from the outlet 13b. On the other hand, the leading end portion Qa of the cut web Q is wound round the periphery of a new supplied core R at the inlet 13a of the web winding portion. Thus, web winding work can be conducted continuously by a web winding apparatus 2.
