In a contact-holder with translational displacement, consisting of an insulating support 2 drilled with rectangular apertures 4 spaced apart side by side and into each of which is fitted transversely a moving contact bridge 5 held up by a long compression spring 9 and intended to cooperate with an associated alignment of fixed contacts, provision is made for arranging, in each aperture 4, a U-shaped sliding clip 13 whose bottom bears between the moving contact bridge and the spring, and whose side walls 15 form guides for the spring during the repulsion of the contacts as well as skirts for protecting the spring against spray from metal vapours when an electrical arc appears at the time of repulsion.
