PURPOSE:To sufficiently and satisfactorily record information to a guard band by being equipped with a magnetic head to have a track width shorter than the interval of two magnetic heads, being close to one side head side from an interval center and providing magnetic head having azimuth angle. CONSTITUTION:Two main magnetic heads 7 and 8 have gap parts 7a and 8a in which an azimuth angle is respectively zero and for example, a track of 60mum width is formed. These heads 7 and 8 are arranged by separating magnetic gap parts 7a and 8a by 40mum in this case in a track width direction to form, for example, the guard band of 40mum. On the other hand, an information head 9 for a guard band is equipped with a magnetic gap part 9a in which an azimuth angle is 45 deg., the head is between both heads 7 and 8, adjoins to the edge part of the head 7 and the information track is formed in the track width direction. Thus, when the main track is tracked off, overwriting is not executed as much as possible, the information of the main track is not deteriorated, and the prescribed information can be sufficiently and satisfactorily recorded to a guard band.
