PURPOSE:To prevent a microprogram from being brought into a looping state due to a control signal generated in error by resetting the microprogram at a prescribed period when a voice digital converter is idle. CONSTITUTION:When the voice digital converter 10 is idle, that is, when the user is not busy, a non-talking signal is given to a transmission line at all times and a signal from a telephone set interface circuit 17 to a counter circuit 21 is reset. A counter circuit 21 is in a countable state and a signal is sent to a reset timing circuit 22 when a prescribed period is counted. Thus, the timing circuit 22 generates a pulse having sufficient time to reset the microcom puter 15 in a reset pulse circuit 23 to reset the microprogram in a ROM 16.
