摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high resolving power without inducing a large increase of cost, by a method wherein, two shutters are laid over each other offset longitudinally and laterally by 1/2 of the length-width dimensions of an optical shutter element, and each of the shutters is composed by arranging the optical shutter elements in matrix form, each of which is twice a pixel in length-width dimensions. CONSTITUTION:A pixel of an image is 1/2 of a shutter element of optical shutters I, II in length-width dimensions. When a light is to be transmitted to a pixel of an address 17, an element Bc of the optical shutter I and an element Qq of the optical shutter II are simultaneously opened. In this manner, only the part corresponding to the pixel of the address 17 having 1/4 the area of the element of the optical shutter I or II is opened. In this manner, the part corresponding to a pixel of addresses 1-63 can be opened only by a method in which any of the shutter elements Aa-Ed, Pp-Ts of 40 pieces in total amount in the optical shutters I, II are selectively opened. Therefore, drive circuits are not required for more than 40 pieces. The difference in the number of circuits is increased with increasing number of pixels. On the other hand, as the area of the shutter element of the optical shutters I, II can be determined to be 4 times that of the pixel, the manufacture thereof is also facilitated.</p>
