PURPOSE:To make the display of a timer easy to be understood and easy to be operated by displaying only hour unit and minute unit on an external display part at the time of setting the timer and displaying a second unit besides the hour unit and the minute unit when the timer starts and begins counting. CONSTITUTION:In case of switching on an interval timer mode switch 25, the display part 38 shifts to an interval timer mode in spite of the state of displaying a previous data filming mode and displays the time since the release is pushed until a release signal is outputted with hours and minutes. When the interval timer mode switch 25 is switched on again keeping this state, the display adds the display with second unit so as to begin actions as a subtraction timer if a camera main body 46 and a main switch 53 are ON. Thus, switching operation at the time of setting the time of a timer can be easily understood and the state of actions can be distinctly grasped because the second unit, for example, execute subtracting actions while the timer is working.
