In a device for rearing small animals, in particular fattened poultry such as chickens, a grid-like plastic carrying floor (21), designed as a conveyor, traverses a battery. The carrying floor (21) is supported by supporting profiles (38) which extend perpendicular to the direction of transport and approximately parallel to the plane of the carrying floor and co-operate through lateral conveyor members (conveyor chains 51). Soft, flexible padding, in particular in the form of hollow tubular or hose-shaped bodies or profiles (40), are arranged on top of the carrying floor (21) above each of the supporting profiles (38). To simplify the construction, the carrying floor (21) is designed as a traversing path of relatively fine-wire netting (10). |
