Essential features of this dispensing system are the selection switches (W) which are available for each tap (4a-4g) and actuation of which in each case results in the freely preprogrammable engagement of the function keys (F1-F5), the instantaneous engagement of the function key (F1-F5) which is brought about by pressing a selection switch (W) being displayed in the display unit (5). Actuation of a function key (F1-F4) then causes dispensing of that quantity of drink which is specified in the display unit (5). As the same function keys (F1-F5) are used for all the taps (4a-4g), it is possible to use much fewer keys than dispensing systems to date while retaining the same number of drinks portions which can be tapped, and in addition it is possible for the display unit (5) to provide more flexible "labelling" of the portions to be dispensed.
