Pivoting and/or sliding door for motor vehicles

Motor vehicles with only pivoting doors have disadvantages. They take up too much space in stationary traffic as a result of parking operations. Parking operations are often not without risk. More and more motor vehicles are coming onto the market. Available parking spaces are limited, expensive and no longer viable. (Z1). My invention affords an alternative. It becomes possible to get into and out of a vehicle in the most confined parking space. An improvement of 20 to 30 % to the parking possibilities existing at the present time is afforded. A change-over phase of 10 to 15 years would bring enormous advantages in economic and traffic terms. (Z1). Technical solution: Sliding pressure cylinders are attached to the vehicle-frame part in place of the angular holding hinges. These cylinders press the vehicle-body door out by the amount of a door thickness. Two sliding rails are mounted on the interior door side of the vehicle at a distance from one another which is appropriate for the total weight. Rollers with sliding rods run therein. The sliding rods can be pushed into sliding rails which are mounted externally on the chassis. The mountings of the vehicle door on the sliding pressure cylinders are opened and released. The door can be pushed rearwards by means of a handle. The door is closed again by means of a reverse operation. Attention is drawn to subclaim S 3/6 - Z10 1f of the patent application. <IMAGE>
