The invention relates to securing means for wooden battens on buildings, composed of a two-legged sheet-metal bracket for fastening on roof rafters and of a sheet-metal batten shoe for engaging beneath the wooden batten. The invention consists in the fact that the sole (2a) of the batten shoe exhibits a slot in each of the quadrants of a central, right-angled cross arrangement, whereas the fastening bracket has, on both sides of the centre line (a-a), in each case one tongue (5, 6) which is punched out of the supporting plane (3a). Said tongues can be optionally plugged through one pair of diagonally opposite slots in the sole (2a) of the batten shoe or, after turning the batten shoe on the supporting plane (3a) of the sheet-metal bracket through 90@, through the other pair of diagonally opposite slots and can be bent down onto the sole (2a) of the batten shoe. <IMAGE>
