The present invention relates to the foundry industry. The constituents of the wear-resistant cast iron according to the invention are carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, nickel, aluminium, cerium, magnesium, calcium and iron, a quantity of carbon of from 0.5 to 2.0 % by mass of the total quantity being present in the form of nodular graphite inclusions in the cast iron. The invention can be used for the manufacture of components which are exposed to frictional wear and to the action of high temperatures.
