Catalyzed halogen exchange between perhaloolefins to form products of the formulas: R<1>R<2>C=CR<3>R<8> and R<5>R<6>C=CR<7>R<4> wherein R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<5>, R<6> and R<7> are independently selected from F, Cl, Br, C1 to C4 perfluoroalkyl and pentrafluorophenyl; or R<1> and R<3> together, R<2> and R<3> together, R<5> and R<7> together or R<6> and R<7> together, when both groups are in the cis configuration, may also represent perfluoroalkylene of 2 to 4 carbons or o-C6F4(-)CF2-; R<8>=F; R<4> = Cl or Br; none of the fluoroolefins simultaneously contain both Cl and Br; and R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<4>, R<5>, R<6> and R<7> may be chosen as to product identical structures for the reactants or for the products. |
