A continuous casting device comprises a continuous casting die made of metal as the base material. The cooling die is made of a cast material shrink-fitted around the central integrally cast cooling tube and the spiral cooling tubes encircling the central tube. The aim of the invention is to improve a continuous casting device in such a way that at least the essential parts of the die are not parts which can be used only once but reusable components and that the die can be manufactured and operated economically. For this purpose, a primary cooler (11) and a secondary cooler (25) are longitudinally offset. The two coolers are provided with separate cooling liquid circuits (15, 35) arranged in their cooling bodies. The ratio of the length of the primary cooler (11) in the direction of casting and its external or internal diameter is less than 70:100. This continuous casting device is suitable for casting metals.
