<p>An apparatus having a mantissa part register and an index part register which transfers floating point data only is now permitted to input and output fixed point data, too. The registers are connected to individual inputs and outputs and also receive a common clock signal. Depending on the input and output data format the registers are used separately or in combination. With the registers being separately used, increased kinds of input and output data can be processed simultaneously. In the event of a data length longer than the register length, a combination of registers can be used to accommodate the data.</p> |
