A hood made of transparent plastic for motor-vehicle roofs for completely covering a roof opening, with downwardly directed cross- and side walls, the edges of which - with the insertion of a rubber seal - are supported on the motor-vehicle roof, at a distance from the boundary edges of the roof opening, by means of clamping devices, is designed in such a manner that underneath the hood there is fastened at least one tensioning rod which runs transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle, is originally straight and the curvature of which corresponds to the curvature of the roof after the hood has been installed.
