In known processes for purifying industrial exhaust air, this is first cooled to condense impurities, then reheated and then passed for adsorption of the impurities onto activated charcoal. However, because of the unfavourable chemical and physical properties of activated charcoal, this still has significant disadvantages, in particular with respect to the selectivity, the operational reliability and the service life of the adsorbent. The object of the invention is to make possible by simple means operationally reliable purification of industrial exhaust air, matched to the impurities, with a relatively high degree of cleaning. To achieve the object, according to the invention a zeolite molecular sieve is used as adsorbent, which can advantageously also be used in the form of a fluidised bed.
