The invention relates to a method and to a fastening device for reducting the number of fasteners and working steps required to mount door and window frames and to secure fittings to the frames. Accordingly, there is used in accordance with the invention a fastening device (1) comprising an externally screwthreaded sleeve (2) which has provided on one end thereof an external flange (3) by means of which a fitting in the form of a hinge (11) striking plate or the like can be securely fitted to a frame (8), which frame (8), in turn, can be secured in an opening in a building element (9) with the aid of a screw (7) which passes through and co-acts with the fastening device, the head (6) or like element of the screw being locked to the fastening device (1) so that the fastening device, and therewith the frame (8), will accompany axial movement of the screw (7) when screwing-in or screwing-off the screw from the side of an opening in the building structure (9). |
