In conventional ski bindings used in ski jumping, a condition of tension arises because of the angle of incidence of the ski relative to the curve of the drop, and this condition is maintained during the jump by deformations in the region of the ski boot and of the foot. As a result of this, and as a result of excessively high angles of incidence, uncertainties arise on landing and with regard to the length of jump achievable. The ski binding according to the invention permits a free, tensionless pivoting of the ski relative to the base plane of the ski boot and hence the setting of an optimum angle of incidence, aimed at the maximum possible range, of the ski relative to the curve of the drop. <IMAGE> |
