PURPOSE:To improve a comfortable feeling of riding on a vehicle and its running stability and to prevent a shimmy phenomenon, by diagonally interposing a damper to exist between links of an upper or lower arm, in the case of a steered wheel suspension device having the double-pivot type arm. CONSTITUTION:If a steered wheel 2 is displaced or vibrated in the longitudinal direction, a double-pivot type upper arm 3 generates the deformation in a shape such that links 7a, 7b change their trapezoidal shape between the links and a knuckle 1. Here a device, in which a damper 10 extends and contracts corresponding to these vibration and/or shape change, damps the vibration of the steered wheel 2 moderating its displacement. While the damper 10, which generates no extending and contracting action by the sudden vibration causing a shimmy phenomenon, functions as the vibration restricting member of the steered wheel 2 in the upper arm 3. Accordingly, the device, suppressing the vibration, prevents the shimmy phenomenon. By this constitution, the device enables the improvement of a comfortable riding feeling, prevention of the shimmy phenomenon and the improvement of running stability to be promoted. |
