PURPOSE:To achieve a target speed change ratio with quick response by carrying out variable control of a continuously variable transmission and switching of mode of an auxiliary transmission through a judging means comprising a mode change judging means and a continuously variable speed change judging means. CONSTITUTION:A continuously variable transmission 12 for transmitting engine output to wheels carries out speed change with a large torque ratio width through continuously variable speed change of a belt type continuously variable transmission 30 and switching control of low and high speed modes of an auxiliary transmission 20. A target torque setting means 113 sets a target torque based on signals fed from respective running condition sensors, then a judging means 114 judges between low speed mode L and high speed mode H based on a torque ratio of the continuously variable transmission 30 calculated through a torque ratio detecting means 111 and a calculating means 108 so as to switch the mode of the auxiliary transmission 20 through a switching means 110. At the same time, a judging means 115 obtains a target speed change ratio of the continuously variable transmission 30 and carries out speed change control through an operating means 100. Consequently, speed can be changed quickly for a target torque. |
