PURPOSE:To improve the retrieving efficiency of labels by registering separately the retrieving addresses of a label table emerging during execution of a program into a register memory and retrieving this memory to obtain a retrieving address for such a label that emerged once during the program execution. CONSTITUTION:A label retrieving means 31a checks whether a label A supplied from a source program 10 is included in a register memory 40 or not. If so, a retrieving address xxxx is acquired for the label A and no retrieving action is carried out via a total label table 20 that is valid at that time point. If not, a retrieving action is carried out via the table 20 and the address xxxx is registered into the memory 40 together with the label A via a label register means 33. In this case, the label which is least referred to is deleted out of the memory 40 via a label deleting means 32 and then registered again via the means 33 when the memory 40 is filled.
