PURPOSE:To make it possible to automatically return a set ring to a lock position by enabling a spring to slide on an inclined surface in association with insertion and pull-out of a shaft into and from a hole in a boss. CONSTITUTION:When a set ring 12 is located at the connecting and discon necting position thereof, a spring 24 is located at an original position, and one corner part thereof abut against balls 8 which are therefore prevented from dropping. Further, when a spline shaft 6 is further inserted deeply, a ball retaining projection 30 formed in the set ring 12 engages with the balls 8 which are pressed outward by the spline shaft 6 under the return force of the spring 24, and accordingly, the set ring cannot move further. Thus the balls 8 automati cally drop into a set groove 10 in the spline shaft 6 so that the set ring 12 is located at its lock position. |
