摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To uniformize the feed of intake air to cylinders, by a method wherein, in a device where the other end of an approximate C-shaped suction passage connected to each cylinder is connected to a surge tank, the surge tank is arranged in a manner to be inclined in the direction of an output shaft, and the degree of curvature is changed along with the inclination arrangement. CONSTITUTION:Independent suction passages 7a-7d, formed approximately in a C-shape as seen from the front and divided into two parts of the one being suction pipes 9a-9d on the upper stream side and the other being suction pipes 11a-11d on the downstream side and interconnected by means of upper and lower flanges 12p and 12q, are connected to common suction ports 6a-6d communicated to cylinders 1a-1d, respectively, of a 4-cylinder engine. The suction passages 7a-7d are connected to the side of a common surge tank 8, and in this case, the surge tank 8 is disposed in an inclined manner so that the one end part is positioned in a level higher than that of the other end. Further, the degree of curvature of the suction passages 9a-9d are set so that the suction passage 9d positioned closer to the end on the high position side is situated closer to an engine body than the suction passage 9a situated closer to the end part on the low position side.</p>
